There are a couple of shots with this same concept in here but I think this one is the best of them. Well done.

Very nice take on the water drop theme! Colors complement each other nicely as well.

I love these water drops shot and you have taken it to the next level with the geometric patterns of the drops and the underlay. Very nice.

Very clever use of reflection and depth of field to achieve a symbolic fractal effect

Lovely! this cheers me up. great setup.

secretatlantis said 5 months ago 10/15/2009 5:06:07 AM EDT

I confess I'm distracted by the white rectangles in the reflections : softboxes, windows, lighttent ...?

Without the specular highlight (yes it is a softbox) the droplets look flat (I tried it).
The reflection of the light-source emphasises their form and makes the image look more 3D

Someone else in this contest did a similar image using a checkerboard,
I feel that one looks flat in comparison with mine because it doesn't have any reflections.

This is awesome. Love the colours, the repeating patterns and design, and the wonderful impact of it all. I wish you didn't have the white diffuser or reflector reflection in all of the droplets though, but these things are very difficult to control...The very small droplets are also a bit distracting, but that's just being nitpicky now... Very well done.

Wonderful colors and patterns! They look suspended in air like a 3d image and the spiral pattern is a great touch :)

I don't know what happened to my previous comment...it's gone!
Congrats on the Silver! DiGi DoZeN!! :D

Congratulations on the silver! Well done. I agree with Eurydice that the extra droplets add to it. I like the spiral, too. :)

I have to agree with your here Clive. I think the softbox reflection really helps, but you can't please everyone!

Beautiful shot.
